Nataraja (Bell Metal)
The religious story of Shiva-Nataraja took place in the Tillai forest of Chidambaram. Lord Shiva goes into the forest disguised as a beggar to confront the sages who neglected proper worship. In the battle that followed between the sages and Lord Shiva, the sages sent a demon and a snake to attack him, which he dramatically defeats. Thus he performs the dance of bliss - Anandatandava.
The message of the Nataraja dance pose is perceived to be that Ïgnorance can only be overcome by knowledge, music and dance".
